Area Group Sales Manager - Small Group Specialist
Through your passion and motivation, you will sell memorable experience to guests who stay in our properties. You are professional and knowledgeable about your resorts, and build strong relationships to create a bond with your guests and clients. You will support group sales for Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii as well as Fairmont Orchid, Kea Lani based out of Hawaii Island.

What you will be doing:

  • Accountable for prospecting and booking small group business within defined parameters, exercising discretion and independent judgement
  • Specialist for Group Site Inspections at Fairmont Orchid for off-site sellers
  • Budget for, plan and organize 'wow' site inspections, business development trips
  • Exceed personal sales and activity goals
  • Collect and analyze market and competitive intelligence to maximize group sales opportunities
  • Develop monthly sales strategy and action plans through thoughtful analysis of data and consideration of multiple options. 
  • Build and manage relationship with relevant stakeholders
  • Partner with sister hotels to optimize Accor exposure and build incremental business
  • Utilize Opera Sales System to track, solicit, book and follow up on accounts
  • Quote and negotiate rates within established parameters
  • Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with convention services, catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotels promised services
  • Jointly supervise the training and development of the assigned Sales Administrative Assistant
  • Support group sales team and handle special projects as assigned
  • Participate in departmental / self-guided training and development
  • Support the goals, objectives and philosophies of Fairmont Kea Lani and Fairmont Orchid
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as required
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service 
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers
  • Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures, and all safety policies

Your experience and skills include:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Computer literacy in various applications and tools including CVent and LinkedIn is an asset
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 40 wpm
  • Goal oriented, competitive and well organized
  • Must be able to analyze financial data to create winning group strategies and solutions
  • Maintain a professional working environment, positive attitude, firm and supportive team based approach to ensure attainment of the hotel's short and long term goals
  • Be a role model in proactive sales
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and days
  • Must be able to work independently, exercising discretion, independent judgement and logical decision-making
  • Minimum of 2 years hotel sales experience, preferred
  • Experience in sales administrative work is an asset
  • Bi-plex/complex sales experience in their respective market is an asset
