Area Director of Learning & Development, Italy, Spain & Portugal

SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
- Lead, drive and promote the Learning & Development (L&D) function within Italy, Spain & Portugal and be the first line of contact for all L&D related matters
- Deliver Corporate Training within the Area (hotels and offices) with the support of L&D Leads and assist with the design of training content / materials for operational trainers (Train the Trainer principle)
- Assist the Key Operational Leaders and the Directors of Excellence (Rooms and F&B) in designing Operational Training as & when required
- Strong focus for our seasonal hotels in Italy & Spain with pre-opening training design and delivery in close collaboration with other key stakeholders
- Build strong relationships throughout the organization at all levels, creating an inspiring a fun learning environment which drives excellence in our businesses
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the Area L&D strategy by identifying L&D needs within our hotels and offices
- Close collaboration with the Global L&D team and pro-active support of Area L&D Leads and HR Directors/Managers to reach the Company’s L&D objectives.
- Work closely alongside our Operations teams as well as the Directors of Rooms and F&B Excellence to support business excellence (Brand Assurance, Leading Quality Assurance etc.)
- Set up and deliver a seasonal training plan/structure for our seasonal hotels in line with business needs including pre-opening training, ongoing support and post-season evaluation
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for the division and support Divisional HR Director with other HR/Talent Management systems such as the Performance Management System (PMS) and Employee Opinion Survey (EOS)
- Responsible for Area L&D budget as well as managing/obtaining available government funds for the Italian properties
- Ensure compliance training is completed within the Area, in line with local legislation
- Pro-active L&D support with acquisitions and takeovers
- Create and update training materials as required
- Assist with developing and delivering brand engagement activities
- Assist Divisional HR Director with projects as needed
- Keep up to date with developments in the industry, monitoring trends, practices and making recommendations relating to these
- Frequent travel within Italy, Spain & Portugal required
