We are seeking a Security Supervisor to actively participate in the day-to-day security operations of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property. This individual will report to the Director of Security (HSSE). The bulk of hotel security’s day is filled with patrolling hotel grounds, parking lots, lobby, restaurant, and hallways. We provide a sense of security to both hotel staff and guests simply by being present. Hotel security are assigned to monitor the hotel via security cameras.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Access control (lock and unlock) the entry doors and gates on grounds.
  • Manages the access control programs and systems. (Key distributions and lock interrogations)
  • Creates the weekly schedules for the security officers and shuttle drivers using the OnTrack program.
  • Manages the payroll for the security officers and shuttle drivers using the ADP program.
  • Manages the incident reporting system (ALICE)
  • Manages the maintenance, insurance, and registrations of the resort’s fleet of vehicles.
  • Manages the maintenance of the CCTV camera system.
  • Manages the maintenance of the handheld radio system.
  • Report’s crisis and major incidents to the corporate head of HSSE
  • Conducts the annual corporate safety audit in conjunction with affected department heads.
  • Manages / maintains the resorts service crunch, emergency alert, resort evacuation, department head and executive group chats.
  • The liaison to the local police and fire departments.
  • The liaison to the local health departments.
  • Escort People In/Out of the Hotel - Hotel security is also responsible for escorting guests and hotel staff to and from the hotel. If valet parking is unavailable late at night, hotel security may escort guests and staff to protect them. Additionally, hotel security may need to escort belligerent guests off hotel property.
  • Maintain Order - Hotel security is often expected to maintain order among the different groups of guests.
  • Report to Management -Hotel security is responsible for reporting all suspicious activity to their supervisors or hotel management. Usually, hotel security should report current events in real time through their radio and document events that have already been resolved.
  • Investigate Disturbances - Hotel security must be on call anytime during their shift to investigate disturbances reported by hotel staff and guests. This can include things like excess noise coming from a guest’s room or reports of suspicious people prowling the parking lot.
  • Emergency and incident response.
  • Manage the hotels lost and found program.
  • Inspect all fire life safety equipment to ensure in working order.
  • Use utilities and resources in a responsible manner to control wastage.
  • Communicate relevant information to the department, your line manager and across departments, as appropriate.
  • Comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety policy and ensure accidents/defects are reported immediately.
  • Attend learning and development courses and complete eLearning modules, as required.
  • Demonstrate and be a role model of Belmond’s core values of Care, Confidence, Curiosity and Community.

Requirements

Must be skilled problem solvers with great attention to detail. Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills are required for contact with guests, local law enforcement and other authorities. Must be able to stand for up to 8hrs per shift and lift up to 25lbs. Must have at least one year of supervisory experience in a luxury hotel setting is required.
