Job Description



Job Purpose:

The Assistant Product Manager assists the Product Manager and is responsible for the purchase, stock management and logistics co-ordination of products and merchandise for boutique operations. This includes giving product support to retail sales teams and visual merchandising teams, while adhering to purchase budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To conduct OTB and sales forecast/targets for the product categories based on sales performance history and market trends and taking market opportunities while maintaining optimal sell through %.
  • To manage stock/inventory level of all items sold in Fashion boutiques by reviewing sales records and forecast periodically.
  • Responsible for the accurate analysis of the current business including product / SKU sales, stock and sell thru analyses per boutique, product segments, client segments, size, colors, styles etc.
  • To participate in a few overseas buying/purchases, administer the purchase order operation as well as assist in conducting pre and post buy with boutique team.
  • Buys with a multi-category approach in mind: provides an assortment per boutique that allows clients to exhibit their own style and silhouette.
  • Balances commercial/short term product opportunities with image-led/long term product strategies.
  • Works with the Retail on an assortment of fashion products per boutique that drives the Fashion and Luxury dimensions of the brand
  • Co-lead after sales service (product quality issues) with boutique team/ASS coordinators and coordinate with regional team on such quality issues.
  • Drive business results: in collaboration with Retail team, propose sales targets and product incentives, ensure relevant transfers between boutiques, and transfer stock from overseas if required.
  • Spend at least 20% of time in regular visits to the boutique to explore opportunities, review assortment, display and other merchandising issues.
  • Regularly provide feedback on collection performance and market needs to Regional Office for future product development.


Academic / Professional Qualifications 

  • At least a University degree
  • At least 3 years’ of work experience in Product or Merchandising, of which the last 3 is in a managerial position
