Catering and Conference Services Manager
About the job
Responsibilities include:
- Actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, proactive sales initiatives and on-site entertainment.
- Coordinates all requirements for groups booked by the Sales Department and communicated the needs of the client with all hotel departments.
- Ensures successful execution of group programs and stays while driving client satisfaction.
- Maximize revenue potential through up selling and ensure accuracy of all program or event details.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Catering or Conference Services Manager in a full service resort or hotel
- Knowledge of Sales and Catering Software
- Computer literacy to include MS Word, Excel, and ability to use e-mail and the Internet
- High level of creativity with food and beverage menu proposals
- Strong selling and negotiating skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid organization skills
- Strong interpersonal and team player skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, weekends, and evenings
- Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment, internet, telecommunication technology – preferred
