Responsibilities

This position is responsible for monitoring the forecast and booking pace while driving the team to achieve results. 

The Director of Catering is responsible for the supervision and overall responsibility of the Catering function.  This includes maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from Catering Manager and Catering Administrative Assistants. They will actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain local corporate catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment.  Finalize the requirements of personally booked catering events while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. This position will also supervise the execution of banquet events. The Director of Catering will be involved in hiring, disciplinary decisions, conduct performance evaluations and serve as a mentor for any Catering or Conference Services employee.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

•Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

•3 to 5 years catering sales experience and/or related food and beverage experience required

• Previous experience managing a team

• College education or equivalent experience

• Must be able to communicate in English both verbal and written

• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States
