The Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend at Notre Dame boasts 10,000 square feet of banquet space and 164 guest rooms located in the vibrant Eddy Street Commons directly across the street from the University of Notre Dame and is a perfect location for all groups!

They are looking to add to their team a Catering Sales Manager to focus on SELLING only! This person would sell both local corporate and social groups, with a strong emphasis on growing the wedding market! 

The ideal candidate will have 2 + years' experience in catering sales, preferably with knowledge of the wedding industry. 

What will I be doing?

As a Catering Sales Manager, you would be responsible for representing the hotel’s services and facilities to prospective clients and customers in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Target and solicit new catering business through lead generation, face-to-face prospecting, and relationship referrals
  • Design, develop, and sell creative catered events
  • Develop existing business to uncover additional revenue opportunities
  • Maximize revenue by upselling packages and creative food & beverage
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities
  • Perform site visits, both scheduled and on-demand
  • Assist with the forecasting all revenue catering revenue categories
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the vanity site for weddings
  • Handle customer compliments and complaints through distribution and resolution
  • Stay on top of industry trends making recommendations to the sales and catering teams
  • Work closely with the Event Manager to ensure all event details are communicated
  • Travel primarily outside the hotel to initiate new sales, solicit leads, hold conferences and make sales proposals and presentations
  • Determine rates and negotiate contracts
