The Signia Atlanta is the first announced property within this new Hilton brand. Signia is a dynamic, new meetings-and-events-focused brand setting out to transform the industry for meeting professionals and sophisticated business travelers by infusing state-of-the-art technology and design into every aspect of the guest experience. Owned by the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC), this 975-room property with 75,000 square feet of self-contained space, is attached to the GWCC and adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Expected to open in January 2023, the Signia Atlanta will be the premier hotel within the city/southeast for conventions and in-house events.

The Director of Sales and Marketing with the Signia Atlanta is responsible for executing all commercial activity related to direct sales and marketing to secure conventions/meetings, as well as business and leisure travel. Primary role is to implement the necessary sales deployment to maximize sales conversion thru solicitation and qualified in-bound leads from all channels. Position will require a strategic and data driven approach to determine and negotiate rates, deliver impactful proposals and contracts, and analyzes lost business to maximize all months and seasons. Works with hotel commercial team (GM, DRM, DOCE and Marketing Manager) to create sales plans/strategies and marketing direction to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals. Works with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers. Interviews, trains, supervises, counsels, schedules and evaluates staff. Manages the financial aspects of department (i.e. forecasting, budgeting, etc.)

Additional desired experience requirements are:

  • First tier city convention background with strength in convention center/CBV partnerships
  • Strong Executive presence supported by excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • History of cultivating internal and external sales channels (i.e. national sales, cvb sales teams, third parties, etc)
  • Pre-opening execution
  • Elevated marketing awareness (digital, social media, pr, promotions, content management, etc.)

What will I be doing?

As a Director of Sales and Marketing, you would be responsible for leading and directing the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans and initiatives in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

 

 

  • Lead and direct the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans and initiatives to include, but not limited to, interacting with clients and the media, directing solicitation efforts, securing business, operating information management systems, preparing and presenting statistical and performance reports and managing all financial aspects of the operation
  • Partner with the Revenue Management team to include, but not limited to, determining sales pricing strategies, developing rates, establishing group thresholds, determining space utilization policy, deploying competitive data strategies, conducting demand analysis and managing market mix
  • Utilize and apply current technology and systems effectively
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
  • Manage pre-opening critical path and pre-opening, as needed
  • Participate in ownership meetings, as needed
