 About the Job

Operational

  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all customers are served as per the brand standard.
  • Actively grow the business and looks for new ways.
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all colleagues have full product knowledge.
  • Being an ambassador for the brand at all times.
  • Ensure all activities and operations are to brand standard.
  • Must ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly administrative work is completed and filed/forwarded correctly. Must ensure that all colleagues have attained and retained the correct knowledge to complete the documentation required for their station.
  • Can fully operate and manage the pass from FOH and BOH. Ensures all dishes are correct to brand standard before serving.
  • Based on the assigned Outlet, can manage the flow of home delivery orders, manage the drivers and communicate with all functions. Can handle decisions required for complaints.
  • Be able to sign off and approve all orders.
  • Ensure that all orders are in line with the budget and stock requirements and that colleagues who are authorized to place orders have the required approvals and understand the correct procedures.
  • Can conduct inventory count, input and recon.
  • Ensure that all maintenance issues are rectified as soon as possible.
  • Take full responsibility and accountability for conducting monthly and weekly audits, communicates score, action plans and follows up with action required.
  • Ensure that all colleagues are equipped with the tools and skills to be able to suggestively sell and thus striving to improve revenue.
  • Ensure that all complaints are dealt with correctly and in a timely manner that ensures the return faith in our brand by the customer.
  • Communicate with integrity and honesty any issues immediately to Restaurant General Manager / Operations Manager.
  • Have full control of a shift and ensures all brand standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Deal with all problems in an effective manner and ensures that the business or colleagues are not negatively affected.
  • Can make independent decisions that benefit the business, customers and colleague positively whilst being open to suggestion and flexible with change and progress.
  • Support and promote a culture of engagement at all times. Respect all colleagues and actively try to build a team culture.
  • Continuously motivate and develops colleagues to achieve results.

Health & Safety

  • Responsible for all Health & Safety in the restaurant and ensure that the guidelines are maintained and followed. All recommendations put forward by said audits are acted on in a timely manner and that all staff are aware and trained in their individual responsibilities.
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring that the whole outlet including the kitchen operates in accordance to local health and hygiene legislations.
  • Reports any incidents in a timely manner.

HR/Training

  • Manage HR KPI dashboard, relationships, turnover, and colleague satisfaction and continue improvement in performance of colleagues.
  • As part of maintaining customer standards the Restaurant General Manager must ensure that all colleagues have attained and retained the correct knowledge required of their station by means of regular assessments, appraisals and on-going training.
  • Ensure that all vacation planning is completed, updated and in line with business requirements. Right people; right place/time.
  • Understand the importance and benefits of training for the development of the colleagues.
  • Work closely with the HR Department at all times.
  • Involve in the recruitment process; actively scouting for talent and finding contacts to build talent pools.
  • Ensure all probationary and appraisals are conducted correctly and on time and all correct documentation submitted.
  • Must be fully conversant with the wage costs and margins of flexibility within the team under the leadership whilst monitoring and controlling these costs at all times.
  • Support and promote a culture of engagement at all times. Respect all colleagues and actively try to build a team culture.
  • Continuously motivate and develops colleagues to achieve results.
  • Ensure that all rosters are in line with budget and business requirements and completed in time.

 

Communication

  • Have excellent written and verbal skills including the ability to write and present reports on the business on monthly basis.
  • Have the ability and confidence to communicate upwards, active in meetings and contribute positively.
  • Have the ability to lead and influence discussions and encourage two-way communications with the team.

About you:

  • Internationally recognized Degree or Diploma or Hospitality structured training.
  • Internationally approved Food Safety Certificate (Required)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Assistant Outlet Manager with standalone / branded restaurants (Required)
  • Background in Specialty Coffee and Healthy Food preparation
  • Working with multi-cultural teams (Required)
  • Leadership skills (Required)
  • Competitor / best practice knowledge (Desired)
