Summary:

Responsible for providing HR Generalist support within the Sephora Logistics division at an assigned distribution center location.  Manages employee relations matters to ensure all employees are treated fairly, provided with competitive wages, benefits and sound working conditions.  Assist in the creation of and coordination of various HR programs and initiatives.  May carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Employee relations and engagement, training, recruitment, labor relations, and employee equity programs.

Essential Functions of Job:

  • Interact daily with management and employees in order to identify, address and follow up on issues, needs and/or concerns as they arise.
  • Conduct all investigations regarding discrimination, sexual harassment and employee disputes
  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing and delivering onboarding programs of both hourly and salaried employees
  • Identify and address diversity issues
  • Conduct exit interviews and attend unemployment hearings
  • Act as a resource for and ensure an open line of communication is maintained with business partners for fair and consistent interpretation and application of company policies and procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to questions and concerns from all business partners in a timely manner
  • Partner with appropriate leadership team members to provide coaching and counseling to employees to resolve performance issues.
  • Improve business partner understanding of HR issues confronting the organization through analysis and education
  • Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources projects, initiatives, policies, laws and government regulations. 
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of HR related programs and initiatives designed to strengthen our performance culture with highly engaged teams.
  • Assist in the administration of the Employee Opinions Survey process as well as partnership for creation & implementation of action plans supporting a positive work environment
  • Actively participate in safety programs and committees focused on educating employees on safe behaviors
  • Drive engagement efforts aimed at creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Assist in the performance evaluation program and provide feedback and recommendations to business partners
  • Establish, maintain and review employment records to ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Plan, coordinate and / or facilitate Distribution Center recognition functions.
  • Maintain excellent attendance as set by Sephora company policy.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs.
  • Provide high quality internal and external customer service per company standards.
  • Perform other related HR or administrative duties as assigned or required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Proficiency with MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), Internet Navigation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work and interact with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills; with emphasis in active listening and presentation abilities
  • Must possess a sound knowledge of management-labor relations, employment law practices and procedures within Human Resources Management
  • Employee development and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem solving, with decision making skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication abilities preferred
  • Ability to effectively give and receive feedback in a professional and respectful manner that sets an example to others.
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
  • Successfully role model teamwork and demonstrate a collaborative approach when working with staff, associates and management.
  • Demonstrate a value for and participate in professional development and continuous education pertinent to job duties.

  • Minimal travel (<10%) for seminars and other work related activities

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 3-5 years of Human Resource Management experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
