 JOB SUMMARY  

The Senior Director, Global Property Management Systems is part of the Global Operations (GO) department which is responsible for delivering ideas into implementation across all brands, disciplines, and continents. As a member of the Global Operations PMS team, this position will lead and contribute to the successful operational delivery of the Property Management Systems.  The position will lead operational execution and enhancements and be accountable for ensuring the solution meets property needs and for defining business processes. This position will partner closely with iT, Change Management, impacted other continent teams and other disciplines to ensure the solution is developed and deployed effectively and can be received appropriately by the operational users. 

The core focus areas for this role are:

  1. Partners with the continent teams and impacted stakeholder groups (Eg. Finance, Reservations, Digital, Sales and Group Solutions) to standardize and define key business processes, providing input into system requirements
  2. Partners with iT to transform business requirements into effective PMS automation and integration solutions
  3. Contributes to Change Management, including Training, Communications and Continuous Process Improvement


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field appropriate to work of the position; OR related work experience; plus 10 years of hotel experience or other relevant experiences using and supporting property management systems

Required

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, problem-solve and leverage resources to optimize department capabilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to listen and incorporate new information and viewpoints

Preferred

  • Marriott property management system experience preferred (LightSpeed / FOSSE / FSPMS)
  • Experience planning for and managing medium to large scale change, and assessing key impacts to stakeholders
  • Experience with large technology initiatives and processes needed to lead and or support delivery and ongoing support
  • Experience working with international teams and supporting global systems and operational processes
  • Strong understanding of Marriott ecosystem highly desired (Reservations, Loyalty, Finance, etc.)


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  1. Leads PMS Strategy
    • Provides operational input into systems enhancement or integration designs to ensure operational requirements are met effectively
    • Develops and documents business processes, operational procedures, policies, and best practices for PMS on property strategy and front desk procedures as they relate to the PMS
    • Represents the PMS team with Continent IT, Continent Lodging Services (CLS) and Opening + Transitions Teams
    • Participates in requirements, design approvals, UAT, Beta, Pilots, and supporting the deployment of this strategy
    • Partners with stakeholders of other disciplines to identify operational needs, review enhancements and or integration, prioritizing and ensuring that specifications are met


        2 . PMS Subject Matter Expertise 

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the future PMS strategy providing system and operational subject matter expertise relating to payments, business processes, operational processes, interfacing enterprise systems, new property openings, conversions, and future acquisitions 
  • Manages and provides subject matter expertise for new initiatives with future PMS system impacts and/or dependencies
  • Partner with Marriott’s Finance Business Partners and Stakeholders
  • Oversees creation of standard processes
  1. PMS and Operations Business Process
  • Sets and communicates vision for product scope
  • Actively participates in defining and approving user experience
  • Oversees creation of standard processes to support new tasks and organization
  • Participates in managing and providing subject matter expertise for new initiatives with Program Aurora system impacts and/or dependencies
  • Oversees operational input into future systems enhancement or integration designs to ensure operational requirements are met effectively


  1. Training and Continuous Process Improvement
  • Educates program team on technology ecosystem
  • Supports development and maintenance of PMS training program and documentation for new solution
  • Develops implements plan to educate stakeholders on solution
  • Communicates concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand
  • Oversees operational support of training material development on multiple platforms (webinar, eLearning, paper)
  • Partners with IT support to establish support requirements and sustainable support model
