 JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the Finance Business Partner Global Technology (FBP GT) Plan / Build team, this person’s primary role will be to provide business support for the Opera Property Management System (PMS) Upgrade Program for the day-to-day Finance and Accounting operation of the program. He/she is responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results.  This is a project based position that will be half time (50%) for up to two (2) years.

The primary focus of this position is to facilitate financial and accounting processes, with a focus on the following:

  • Processing MI accounting forms and templates
  • Providing ad hoc analyses to support the Director, Finance Analysis and Business Support and overall program team
  • Performing audit functions as directed and creating/documenting controls and governance
  • Provide support of actuals processing, monthly forecast, and annual budget processes
  • Perform general ledger processing and provide reports
  • Establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationship with iT, FBP GT and other key stakeholders.


EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Partner with Global Technology Product team leaders to manage the financial performance of Opera PMS Upgrade Program, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, vendor analysis, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Partner with Global Technology product owners to analyze and manage program expenses, liaising with the appropriate continent and discipline finance partners
  • Support finance related activities for the execution of the Opera PMS Upgrade program including maintaining low to moderately complex activity-based cost and recovery models in compliance with management and franchise agreements.
  • Other duties will include, but not limited to:
  • Maintain multi-year billing and revenue recognition tracker.
  • Distribute property billing notifications to hotel General Manager.
  • Prepare and submit monthly property billing, validate accounts receivable processing, and coordinate billing dispute resolutions.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated program cost reporting and executive status report
  • Prepare and submit program accruals and revenue recognition entry


CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including ability to create and use advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Graphs/Charts)
  • Knowledge of generally accepted finance and accounting policies, principles and controls; as well as Marriott-specific accounting and finance processes and systems.
  • Experience in hospitality industry
  • Experience in accounting function responsible for multiple units or departments
  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing; listens to others and effectively comprehends information
  • Operates with a collaborative mindset to ensure that key stakeholders are considered; builds strong relationships to leverage information and insights to anticipate and respond to project risks.
  • Ability to set appropriate priorities


Education and Professional Certification

Minimum

  • High School diploma or equivalent


Preferred

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree, certification, or continuing education

  • This position can be based at MI Corporate Headquarters or Remote
