Something very exciting is underway in Goshen, New York.  Due to open in 2021, LEGOLAND Park and Hotel in New York is Merlin’s biggest single investment to date and you could play a crucial part in this amazing project!

We’re now looking for people who have a passion for Human Resources and who will lead the way in Delivering the Magic as we bring the world’s ninth LEGOLAND Park to life brick by brick. You will support bringing the project from construction to a bricktastic place filled with smiles.

  •  Oversees department recruiting and staffing strategies and programs, ensuring they are aligned with business plans and required staffing needs.  Develops and maintains an overall, company-wide staffing plan.  Works with the management and key leadership on recruiting efforts.
  • Oversees recruiting and employment activities such as partnerships, job fairs, open hours of application and pre-employment issues.  Manages the pre-boarding process through induction.
  • Keeps up to date on developments in employment law on both the federal and state level.  Develops and delivers training updates to HR staff and managers, supervisors and team leaders in employment law and HR practices
  • Manages the administration of special recognition, incentive and special retention award programs.  Designs new partnerships and programs to enhance LEGOLAND New York as a top employer.  Investigates new MC benefits and services and makes recommendations to the Director of HR
  • Develops, modifies and delivers on-site training programs including orientation, leadership skills, and guest service courses.
  • Maintains training program by creating training prospectus, coordinating the training schedule and negotiating external trainers where needed.
  • Conducts training needs analysis periodically to ensure the training plan meets the needs of the organization.
  • Oversees the administration of HR system for integrity of the data input, reporting needs and accuracy. 


Serves as member of human resources team to contribute to overall effectiveness of the human resource function.  Serves as an active and participatory member, promoting and demonstrating LEGOLAND’s culture and core values through corresponding behavior and actions. 

Background and Experience:

 

Requires at least seven years of progressive Human Resources experience.  Experience in innovative recruiting techniques and strong interviewing skills is required.  Ability to utilize sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality is mandatory.  Requires demonstrated skill in interpersonal relationships, making presentations, negotiations, and verbal and written communication.   Must be able to present a professional image to internal and external contacts and build relationships with internal team members.

Strong leadership skills with at least three years of experience in a supervisory or management role.  Requires strong organizational, follow-up, project management and process improvement skills.  Must be able and willing to provide total function oversight and work hands-on.  Computer proficiency with ability to use Microsoft Office Products is required.  Experience with HRIS necessary.

Education:

A bachelors degree in human resources, business administration or closely related field is required (or equivalent education and experience).  

Other Requirements:

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park.

Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.

Must be willing to travel locally and regionally to conduct business.
