In this role within the Group Security department, you will be responsible for managing the Qatar Airways (QR) Security Compliance and Regulatory Procedures teams ensuring high-performance, be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of an effective Security Management System (SeMS) which includes a robust security quality control programme for the QR Group, and all subsidiaries.

Key Accountabilities: 
  • Responsible for the aviation security element of the QR IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) programme.  
  • Ensures that QR Group Security maintains a current and relevant library of all required security documentation, in line with global aviation security requirements. Responsible for the management of security incidents in the QR Aviation Quality Database and the Denial of Carriage List on behalf of the QR Group. Manage the QR Aviation Security Emergency Response. 
  • In cooperation with the QR VP Security develop the QR Compliance and Regulatory teams annual strategy, objectives and KPI ensuring ambitious targets for self and others.  
  • Develop and implement an effective Security Management System (SeMS) across the business that incorporates the requirements of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) programme.
  • Ensure delivery of all Qatar Airways, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and international aviation security regulations. 
  • Continually review and develop the Aircraft Operator Security Programme (AOSP) to ensure it delivers all business and international aviation security regulatory requirements. 
  • Continually review and assess security related training across the QR Group and ensure that current curriculums are relevant and in line with business and international aviation security regulations and are delivered in the most effective manner.
  • Develop and implement the QR Group Security emergency response. 
  • Manage security compliance by establishing close working relationships with the respective ground services management, airport services managers (ASM), commercial management, procurement department, cargo and catering management on a daily basis to ensure that security compliance is the highest priority for QR at the hub and outstations.
  • Validate the effectiveness of the Aircraft Operator Security Programme (AOSP) and any other QR policies, standards and work instructions at the hub and online stations and highlight any potential security issues that may impact or compromise the operation of an existing station or the opening of a new station
  • Ensure adherence to the Aircraft Operator Security Programme (AOSP) and all local instructions of host States to maintain aviation security compliance worldwide. 
  • Develop and maintain management information, including the use of statistical analysis, to ensure the QR Quality Control Programme is satisfying the requirements of the National Civil Aviation Security Quality Control Programme.

Qualifications
About you : 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum 10 years of job-related experience 
  • Very strong aviation security regulatory experience from airports, authorities or airlines. 
  • Aviation operational security experience in order to understand the overall aviation concept
  • Preferably a qualification in general business, security or similar/relevant areas, investigation qualification, project Management.
  • Ability to work closely with external partners/parties in particular Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and authorities worldwide
  • Excellent working knowledge of aviation security operational requirements.
  • Highly developed report writing and presentations skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
