Marketing and Communications Manager - Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA, Atlanta GA

Role Overview

The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA is a national foundation that strengthens the sport for development sector by supporting organizations in their delivery of quality, sustainable programming that leads to positive social, health, and education outcomes for youth in underserved communities.

In order to achieve our mission, Laureus USA (1) invests in organizations that use sport for youth and social development; (2) generates evidence and commissions research to prove that sport is a powerful method for achieving youth and social outcomes; (3) advocates for the wider adoption of the sport for development methodology; and (4) unlocks new resources to be invested.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with Director of Marketing & Events to grow Laureus USA’s presence and visibility in order to generate additional funding and strengthen partner relationships. He/she will manage key communication platforms to raise the profile of Laureus USA with relevant audiences and ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Responsibilities 

  • Support Director of Marketing and Partnerships on  implementing and measuring results of overall communications strategy that standardizes Laureus USA key messaging and highlights our impact in and across cities

  • Oversee design, copywriting and printing of marketing and communications materials to support  development and programs teams with the overall objective of positioning Laureus USA as leader in the sport for development sector

  • Manage external partners across graphic design, branding, video production and web development

  • Use proper marketing and communication platforms to promote major initiatives, research projects, and partnerships.

  • Create and tailor promotional decks for potential funders and partners

  • Build and update Laureus USA website, managing server, hosting and regular content updates

  • Manage and grow social media platforms, including content creation, responding to messages and comments, and daily advertising across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin

  • Author and publish blog posts about Laureus’ work and the wider sport for development sector

  • Liaise with Laureus Global communications teams and support on global communication projects as needed

  • Support cultivation of PR and press coverage in conjunction with the Foundation’s PR agency

  • Manage national and program specific newsletter creation and distribution

  • Create speaking notes for Laureus staff, Laureus Academy Members and Ambassadors to engage the media and general public through events and public relations opportunities

  • Support Development team on funder cultivation & management

  • Lead on event logistics and execution

  • Support Director of Marketing & Partnerships on US athlete engagement opportunities 

  • Provide marketing, design and communication support for key Laureus USA events

  • Ensure proper and consistent use of branding and messaging throughout all Laureus USA communications, and support staff on correct brand usage



Qualifications

  • 5 plus years of experience in Marketing and Communications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of how to utilize social media to engage and grow diverse audiences

  • Experience executing and enhancing marketing and communication strategies for non-profit organizations

  • Strong project manager who can multitask and meet deadlines

  • A flexible team player who is willing to take on new challenges and tasks that might fall outside of this job description

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the sport for development sector

  • Experience working with high profile stakeholders and/or celebrities

  • Graphic design experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
