TEMPORARY PR CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

MAIN PURPOSE

This role will support corporate communications and crisis communications efforts as a part of the PR team, reporting to the Senior Press Manager, Corporate Communications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Communications:

  • Support the strategic planning, management and execution of a comprehensive corporate communications strategy for key initiatives, including the Cartier Women’s Initiative, Fondation Cartier, Cartier Philanthropy and corporate social responsibility topics, among others.
  • Assist in crafting corporate messaging, executive speeches, talking points and additional external communications.

  • Research and manage database of potential interviews, speaking engagements and networking opportunities for key executives.

  • Actively monitor, analyze and communicate relevant industry news, competitive research and relevant brand mentions, in the context of corporate topics and initiatives.



Press Relations:

  • Support and prioritize communications around the launch of new Corporate Social Responsibility efforts (a major focus for Cartier in 2021).

  • Develop and maintain strong editorial relationships with press covering relevant corporate topics – business, art, philanthropy, women-specific, sustainability, etc.

  • Assist in crafting and distributing pitch materials and press releases.

  • Secure impactful press coverage.

  • Update and maintain editorial databases.

  • Track press and social coverage, monitoring, recording and communicating results.



Crisis Communications:

  • Liaise with external agency for all crisis communications needs.

  • Support the preparation of proactive and reactive communications – FAQs, talking points and media statements.

  • Monitor for resulting press interest and coverage.



Additional Responsibilities:

  • Interface and collaborate with cross-functional departments, both locally and internationally.

  • Create compelling, well-designed presentations and other communications materials for internal and external audiences.

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of creative mailers, press events and press trips.



QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree



Technical Skills/Abilities:

  • 5 – 7 years of work experience in public relations.

  • Experience in corporate communications and crisis communications is a plus.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively – strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage time efficiently.

  • Excellent research and analytical skills.



Personal Skills:

  • Shows initiative and is capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Is able to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.

  • Must be a team player, enthusiastic, positive and professional.

  • Must be flexible to work outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends.
