RIT Croatia, formerly known as the American College of Management and Technology (ACMT) was established in Croatia in 1997 when the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia initiated the establishment of private higher education institutions. Due to its reputation in creating and maintaining successful international partnerships, one of the most prominent private American universities, Rochester Institute of Technology (www.rit.edu), was chosen as the best partner in these efforts.

The American College of Management and Technology in 2013 has changed its name to RIT Croatia (Rochester Institute of Technology Croatia) in order to fully comply with the parent institution - Rochester Institute of Technology.

With 18,000 students from more than 100 countries, RIT is the 10th largest private university in the United States of America with more than 106,000 alumni located around the world. Its nine colleges include the colleges of Applied Science and Technology, Business, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering, Health Sciences and Technology, Imaging Arts and Sciences, Liberal Arts, Science, and the federally funded National Technical Institute for the Deaf. There are more than 230 programs offered and many of them have a national and international reputation of excellence.

RIT Croatia offers programs of study at two campuses, one located in the coastal resort city of Dubrovnik and one in the country's capital, Zagreb. RIT Croatia offers three undergraduate programs: International Hospitality and Service Management (Dubrovnik), International Business (Zagreb) and Information Technology (Dubrovnik and Zagreb); and Master of Science program in Service Leadership and Innovation (Zagreb).

RIT Croatia is the only educational institution in Croatia that grants two diplomas: an American degree from RIT and a Croatian degree from RIT Croatia.
