Purpose or scope of the position:

To develop, manage and administer HR standards, policies and procedures and for ensuring that these are maintained and diligently adhered to throughout Carlton Hotels & Suites.

Main Responsibilities:
• Develops the overall HR strategy for the hotels
• Oversees the development of the annual performance objectives for the company
• Ensures company policies, processes and procedures are established, implemented and complied with
• Develops HR policies and procedures that are in line with the Carlton business strategies, vision and mission
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements and addresses all HR legal issues
• Develop HR programmes and standards that will promote Carlton Hotels as an Employer of Choice
• Develop HR standards that will provide an effective recruitment procedure to attract the best talents in the market, with equitable and competitive remuneration packages and benefits
• Periodically re-asses, review, change and upgrade the company’s benefits and compensation schemes to enable the company to stay competitive and grow by retaining current talent and attracting new ones
• Work with senior management to set performance metrics/KPIs for all departments in alignment with overall business strategy and establish systems to review organisational performance against KPIs
• Liaises and co-ordinates with Line Management the implementation of individual development planning processes and the development of programmes that will provide effective training and development for employees
• Develops an effective Employee Communication Programme that will serve as a venue for employees to express their complaints and issues on unethical and unfair work related practices
• Provides administrative and operational support to Management in areas such as labour disputes, disciplinary actions, general policies and procedures affecting personnel administration, working conditions and employee development
• Assist Management in manpower budgeting related issues
• Contributes to the morale and team spirit of Carlton group by building and maintaining supportive and effective relationships with employees, associates, instilling confidence and demonstrating harmony with key constituents
• Keeps abreast with innovations in the field of HR Management practices and makes appropriate recommendations to the CEO
• Takes a pro-active role in bringing about change and designs development programmes that facilitate change keeping in mind the Carlton vision and philosophy.
• Establishes systems for ongoing skill and capability building.
