What will I be doing?

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will plan, prioritize and support the delivery of innovative Hilton platform capabilities and experiences in collaboration with Software Engineering, Leadership and cross-product business partners.

The Platform Engineering team applies platform management and technical design and delivery skills to plan and prioritize the work of systems or services used by multiple Guest and/or Team Member products. In this highly collaborative position, you will balance the needs of product/business feature owners, platform engineering and architects, enterprise safety and soundness, and performance/scalability to continually drive platform capabilities across Hilton’s web and mobile products.

More specifically, you will:

  • Define platform capabilities for cross-product (Guest/Team Member) and (web/mobile) experiences that use Hilton’s evolving service/API driven infrastructure and third-party services/integration.
  • Develop and maintain platform delivery roadmap(s) with input from appropriate partners to support outstanding user experiences, alignment with enterprise level technology transformation, and maximization of Hilton mobile growth, engagement and revenue.
  • Continually monitor platform and related web/mobile app performance to find opportunities and lead delivery of platform specific improvements that will increase app/platform performance and stability or provide competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with key partners including Product, Software Engineering, and Creative to balance competing interests and needs across the organization for strategic web/mobile delivery, presenting effectively and aligning various partners along the way.

  • Success leading a product/platform management function by working with Technology, Business partners and other teams dispersed geographically
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts in understandable terms to influence others across various levels in a large matrix organization
  • Working/strong knowledge and understanding of service-based architecture, REST APIs and web and mobile client interaction (familiarity with cloud platforms within architecture)


To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Seven (7+) years of work experience in Technology or related field
  • Three (3+) years of experience in a digital role
  • Two (2) years supporting complex digital products that work with multiple software components


It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree with six (6) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED with twelve (12) years of Technology related experience
  • Nine (9+) years of work experience in Technology or related field
  • Five (5+) years of experience in a digital role
  • Four (4+) years supporting complex digital products
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry
  • Prior experience crafting technical specifications and diagrams
  • Working knowledge of Hilton applications and systems
