Maintenance Agent/Technician
You perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the property’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for the guests.

 

 

FUNCTION:

 

 

To repair and maintain all appliances and mechanical equipment.  To do preventative maintenance as requested by the Engineering Office.

DUTIES:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
  • To maintain the laundry equipment.
  • To maintain the kitchen equipment.
  • Maintains all lighting throughout hotel.
  • Painting for all areas of hotel including prepping and sanding for all related jobs.
  • To maintain all HVAC units.
  • To maintain all motor, belts, bearings, etc.
  • To maintain all shop tools and equipment.
  • To assist the Fire Prevention Officer to maintain the Life Safety machinery and equipment, all mechanicals such as pumps and emergency diesel.
  • Do preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Engineering Office.
  • Do all necessary welding as required.
  • Do all work orders pertaining to the hotel
  • Assist other trades as required.
  • Does rounds of specified areas.
  • Installs and removes microphones as requested.
  • Answer all calls and does repairs, if unable to do repairs, must notify the supervisor of the problem.
  • Must log all calls in log book.
  • Perform chemical test for boilers, chillers, swimming pool, etc.
  • Operate BMS computer system.
  • Is part of the fire response team, also on stand by in the event of any emergencies.
  • Does preventative maintenance as scheduled by Engineering Office

  • -Appearance, uniforms and name tags

  • -Knowledge of all mechanical areas
  • -Work order assignment box
  • -Equipment knowledge pertaining to trade
  • -Recycling/ waste, oils, glycol, paper cardboard, environmental.

  • -Location of all areas – retail, restaurants, public areas

1.         Ask yourself: “Can this by recycled or reused?”

2.         Report all leaks, faulty lighting or any other dysfunctional equipment to the engineering department.

3.         Talk about it! Raise awareness of our Green programs, raise awareness of environmental issues in your community, and raise awareness of environmental issues you care about.

4.         Take personal responsibility for your department’s actions and contribution to green initiatives.

5.         Watch for wastefulness. Report unnecessary use of materials to your Green Team.

6.         Always use both sides of paper. Collect one-sided paper for reuse.

7.         Conserve when and where possible

8.         Know what is recycled in your Hotel. Prevent contamination of your recycling system by recycling properly!

9.         Be knowledgeable about Fairmont Hotels & Resorts commitment to environmental stewardship. Offer Guests more information on our environmental goals and programs.

10.       Have an idea? Please tell your Environmental Champion about it and be proactive

At Work and at Home

  • Turn it off – turn it down! When you leave your office or room, please check that your lights and electrical appliances have been turned off or turned down.
  • Don’t create a waterfall! Report any leaks or drips and turn off the water when you brush your teeth.

-     Heating up or cooling down? Don’t forget to close the windows.

-     Collect your recyclable and bring them to the appropriate area.

-     Only use energy efficient light bulbs.

-     Don’t throw out old magazines – share them with other staff members or collect them for a community organization.

-     Old clothes and linens but not space? Bring your unwanted clothing items to your local Salvation Army depot.

-     Think of your purchasing power.  Purchase responsibly by buying in bulk, buying items with less packaging and with recycled content and/or biodegradable ingredients.

-     Encourage other staff members to participate in your hotel “clean-up-days” and other environmental events that benefit your community.

USAGE OF GUEST’S NAME
