Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square is looking for an outgoing and enthusiastic F&B Trainee who is able to translate our Sofitel story to our guests. What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:           

• Consistently offer professional, enthusiastic, friendly and engaging service
• Respond to guest inquiries regarding restaurant availability;
• Aide the Food & Beverage Manager with specialty tasks relating to activations, events or specials offered within the Outlets
• Resolve guest complaints, also related to guest reviews; answering them and tackling these in team meetings
• Work with our operating system in order to assist Food & Beverage Manager with running end of shift reports
• Assist external guests wanting to make a reservation in the Bar & Brasserie
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Follow all safety policies 
• Other duties as assigned
   

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to:

• Various physical movements throughout the work areas
• Reach 1-2 feet
• Walking, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, use of ramps and stairs

Your experience and skills include:

• Speaks conversational English - every other language is a nice extra!
• Creative, proactive and flexible;
• You are currently enrolled in a relevant hospitality/tourism related study;
• Availability to work both weekdays and weekends;
• Available for 38 hours per week;
• Available for at least 5 months.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
