Main Duties/Description:

  • Full awareness of the local market and major Engineering suppliers.
  • The ability to ensure that the department works closely with the Engineering department to purchase the highest quality products while constantly searching for the lowest price.
  • The ability to ensure that all purchase requests are properly completed and approved before a purchase order is prepared and the items are purchased.
  • The ability to ensure all the engineering items received by the hotel are properly documented in accordance with Four Seasons purchasing and receiving procedures.
  • The ability to maintain files and conducting market survey whenever needed.
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • The ability to use Birchstreet and various programs in personal computers.
  • The ability to assist in the preparation of reports as required by the Director of Purchasing.
  • The ability to analyze technical documents and specifications to understand critical requirements.
  • The ability to source Engineering items out of the norm.
  • The ability to conduct frequent visit to the market and Engineering suppliers for evaluation purpose as well as checking on new potential suppliers.
  • The ability to perform any additional duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks.
  • Must be able to maintain good relationship with engineering departments to promote effective purchasing.
  • Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to the purchasing department.
  • Must be able to work in a safe, prudent and organized manner and be able to promote teamwork.
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English and Arabic language is preferable.
