The award-winning AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for an Account Director to join the Sales Team!

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.

The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and IRD.

In this role, you will respond to sales inquiries from potential clients and customers seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc., as well as solicit business, initiate new sales to potential clients and focus on building a territory for groups ranging from 51 to 400 on peak.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years hotel selling experience, luxury sales a plus. It is preferred that the candidate lives in Southern California near the resort for site visits and connecting with clients when programs are onsite. Delphi FDC experience also a plus.

What will I be doing?

As an Account Director, you would be responsible for serving as the hotel representative to prospective clients and customers who need to rent rooms, meeting space, food and beverage service, etc. Specifically, this includes but is not limited to:

  • Respond to sales inquiries, initiate new sales, prospect and qualify leads and solicit potential clients, entertain clients, conduct site visits and answers questions, determine rates, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, service accounts and analyze lost business for the hotel/s.
  • Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals.
  • Work with various departments to ensure requested services are provided to customers.

Salary Range: The annual salary range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
