What will I be doing:

Hilton is looking for an Assistant Managing Director, Canada and US International to lead the development, solicitation, and management of assigned Group accounts/verticals within the US and support the MDOS on specific projects. This role will provide you with the responsibility of identifying, developing, and managing relationships with the goal of driving group business to the international estate outside of the US. In addition, you will have the opportunity to lead the team on projects and support the MDOS on the development of these Team Members.

More specifically, you will:

  • Qualify each account to settle the number of venues, total revenue potential, booking patterns and history, decision-making factors, business needs, personal needs, resources, and competition.
  • Generate business leads to all Hilton international hotels.
  • Achieve booked revenue quotas for international business, lead, personal call, and entertainment call quotas.
  • Develop and execute a focused sales solicitation plan for distressed/holiday/need periods of hotels.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with accounts.
  • Assist hotels during sales trips to destination cities.
  • Make introductions to customers during sales calls, tradeshows, conventions, and local venues.
  • Assist hotels with conflict resolution, contract negotiation, support of hotels’ business/revenue needs, and closing sales.
  • Maintain Salesforce accounts/processes including call reports, meeting profiles, history and traces.
  • Keep timely documentation of sales activity through lead and call reports.
  • Submit monthly reports and as-requested reports; this includes completing projects and results in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Carry out Hilton Sales policies and procedures, standard practice instructions, anti-trust guidelines, and code of ethics at all times.
  • Establish and improve Rapport with National Accounts.
  • Conduct Field Trips, Prospecting and developing new accounts.
  • Develop Accounts via Promotion Activities and produce and report procedures.
  • Thrive in a high-paced and dynamic environment through organization and dedication.
  • Develop and establish a strong coaching culture, instilling value engagement principles for working with clients. You will help your team set goals and empower them to achieve them.
  • Lead the team toward achieving key goals and sales targets, including complete account qualification to define (at a minimum): number of events, total revenue potential, booking patterns and history, decision-making factors, resources, competition, and event, business, and personal needs.
  • Build a collective coaching culture. This includes leading by example and holding oneself and others accountable for excellent performance.

  • Takes initiative to identify, prioritize, and implement all elements required for the team to fulfill responsibilities in keeping with core strategic goals

  • Evaluates and finds opportunities from a strategic perspective, including the ability to develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet the organization’s core strategic goals
  • Assimilates new concepts and practices into position and the department while providing effective training to others for on-the-job training and professional development

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of hospitality sales management experience
  • Travel 50% of the time, including internationally
  • Flexibility to travel with minimal notice, available to work some evenings and weekends

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Solid understanding of the Hilton international hotel estate
  • Solid understanding of Pharmaceutical, Technology, or Association verticals in the US
  • Experience with leading a remote sales team
