Sobre el trabajo

***This role can be located in McLean, VA, or can be Remote***

Our Global HR team partners with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members.

What will I be doing?
As a Global Sales Learning Director within the Commercial Learning team, you will optimize new and existing learning resources and channels to engage and upskill our sales Team Members, both on the property and above property. You will focus on both global and regionally based initiatives. You will focus on building sales learning and resources aligned to the overall business objectives, ensuring Team Members have the learning experiences and tools they ensure a well-prepared pipeline of next-generation sales leaders. You will advocate for and support the completion of global programs and partner with leaders to address short- and long-term planning needs. This role will also conduct benchmarking comparing Hilton’s approach to other industry-leading organizations to ensure we maintain a cutting-edge focus on how we continually build sales skills across the organization.

In partnership with the larger Commercial Learning team, you will proactively seek out opportunities to ensure the learning content created supports the larger Commercial Skills and Abilities model. This will include actively partnering to identify the specific skills that span across Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management, identifying what learning resources exist today to support skill development, where gaps may be present, and making recommendations to senior Commercial leaders to gain their agreement.

More specifically you will:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of end-to-end strategic projects from vision to initiation to completion.
  • Direct and/or indirect people leadership.
  • Evaluate project requirements and decide on internal and external resourcing, vendor selection and ensure digitally forward solutions.
  • Scope the budget for desired operating structure, determine a timeline for securing resourcing, and map major phases of the project for review.
  • Establish timelines for project deliverable reviews/summaries anticipating and eliminating any obstacles.
  • Ensure positive peer interactions and mentorship, support growth and development, and provide leadership across the broader Learning team.
  • Engage with Senior Leaders across HR and the business, providing regular updates on project and budget status.
  • Partner across the Sales, Commercial and Brand organizations to provide sales expertise to address new requests and to highlight Sales Learning resources when relevant to initiatives.
  • Be a member of the Learning Council to review monthly requests for learning support and sharing of standard methodologies.

What are we looking for?
We believe the success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative matrix environment
  • Balances multiple priorities, and nimbly adjusts to shifting priorities
  • Can decide and act without having the total picture while managing risk
  • Assists with partner communications and management when necessary to maintain positive agreement caused by shifting priorities
  • Demonstrates diplomacy in situations with internal clients that may inevitably arise when being truly consultative rather than obliging
  • Ability to influence and establish relationships with leaders
  • Conducts ongoing needs assessments and creativity sessions to capture employee ideas and feedback; synthesizes this information into themes and action plans
  • Seeks out and is curious to gain more information about a broad range of communication, information, and related technologies that can be used to support learning, instruction, and assessment
  • Understanding, managing, researching, supporting, or enabling learning with the use of Learning Technology
  • Motivated to take on new challenges
  • Clarity of language and vision – written, public speaking, and storytelling – tailoring messaging to target audiences
  • Strong builder and exporter of talent

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of professional experience
  • Five (5) years of work experience in the areas of Sales, Revenue, Marketing, HR, or Learning
  • Three (3) years of management experience – either leading a team or demonstrating leadership on project teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word including the ability to understand/build/manipulate presentations, spreadsheets, and documents

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Five (5) years experience in a Sales role, preferably above property
  • Two (2) years of experience in consulting with business leaders and managing projects from launch to implementation
  • Experience working within a global, matrixed organization
