JOB SUMMARY

Participates as a core member of the US and Canada IT Team responsible for the property readiness of all US and Canada hotels in support of the deployment of MGP solutions and technologies. Over the course of 3 years, this position will lead the discovery and readiness efforts of core supporting infrastructure for MGP, including networking, endpoints, and interface connectivity.  Working closely with the rest of the TSSC and PSS teams, this position is expected to coordinate preparation work and provide subject matter expertise during the deployment of MGP solutions. The successful candidate will be expected to travel extensively as appropriate. Serves as an IT escalation point for both internal and external stakeholders. Establishes strong rapport with Global IT partners, project colleagues, property partners and franchise partners to ensure market needs are met. The position will be expected to work extensively on their own with limited supervision or oversite.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification
  • 7+ years’ progressive information technology experience that includes one or more of the following:
    • Networking and/or Server/Desktop Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows based Operating System)
    • Application support
    • Hardware support
  • Direct management experience of cross functional, sourced, and or matrixed teams
  • 5+ years of direct hospitality property technology management or administration
  • 3+ years hands-on management level experience in IT customer service with a track record of support production IT infrastructure
  • Ability to travel (~50% as required)


Preferred

  • Experience with agile frameworks
  • Strong understanding of hotel property technical configurations and the impact on operations.
  • Strong understanding of property security and compliance requirements.
  • Experience understanding PMS interfaces and interface communication technologies
  • Experience with existing Marriott PMS applications and platforms
  • Property operational experience
  • Experience with technology security concepts and functions
  • Working knowledge of Field IT support processes, responsibilities, and requirements.
  • Project management experience. 
  • Vendor management experience
  • Experience in developing and delivering presentations, technical and functional documentation
  • Direct or indirect management experience that includes coaching and developing associates with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong influencing skills and an ability to overcome barriers while driving change


 


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Delivering Technology

 

  • Working with the larger MGP team, develop and document infrastructure requirements and dependencies in support of MGP technologies and solutions
  • Address PMS functional interface challenges, ensuring reliability and stability
  • Provides technical documentation and knowledge articles around existing property technology configurations
  • Addresses core infrastructure cleanup requirements across all properties in support of MGP and operational stability
  • Provides guidance and recommendations for property compliance and controls standards.
  • Provides guidance and feedback around Service Desk delivery services to the US and Canada hotels.
  • Provides educational direction to Marriott Service Providers, Service Desk and Field Services organizations in core technologies as required.
  • Develops, adopts, and maintains best practice guidelines for field services personnel.
  • Reviews configuration requirements for new property based technical solutions to ensure existing security and compliance requirements are met. Proactively addresses configuration conflicts and works closely with third party partners and project teams to ensure effective adoption in the field.
  • Establishes strong rapport with Corporate IT partners, along with Regional IT VP’s to ensure market needs are met.
  • Works with Americas IT, Global IT, and partners to implement continuous improvement activities


 


Technology Governance

  • Develops and maintains appropriate information records required for successful deployment of MGP technologies and solutions
  • Identifies gaps and provides guidance to the larger US and Canada IT team to ensure property readiness
  • Assists in the identification of supporting and dependent technologies required to support MGP
  • Identifies necessary changes to security compliance posture to protect the hotels from evolving risks.
  • Liaises with and escalates compliance challenges with Marriott’s Global Information Security Team
  • Drives guidelines and governance requirements for change control, configuration management, security controls and services delivery.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement through metrics of quality consistency and client satisfaction
  • Follow all defined IT standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
  • Maintain a proper balance between business and operational risk


Managing Projects and Priorities

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $90,975 to $180,131 annually.

New York City & Westchester County, NY Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $110,081 to $198,146 annually.
