RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For
- Provide visionary leadership to the pastry team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior pastry staff, ensuring their growth and development in line with the hotel's standards.
- Manage the daily operations of the bakery, including production schedules, inventory management, and quality control.
- Conceptualise, design, and exceute a diverse range of artisanal baked goods, pastries, and desserts that align with the hotel's luxury image and guest preferences.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques and ingredients into the pastry offerings.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation for all baked products.
- Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks to ensure that all items meet or exceed the hotel's expectations.
- Oversee the daily production of bakery items, coordinating with the pastry team to ensure timely and efficient exceution.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients, tools, and equipment, placing orders as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations in the bakery, maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
- Train staff on proper sanitation, hygiene, and food handling practices.
- Collaborate with other culinary departments to ensure seamless integration of bakery items into overall food offerings, including special events and seasonal promotions.
- Participate in guest interactions, showcasing a friendly and knowledgeable demeanour while sharing insights about the bakery offerings.
- Manage the bakery budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing wastage while maintaining high-quality standards.

- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable role.
- Proven experience as a Head Baker or similar role in a luxury hotel, high-end bakery, or renowned culinary establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and trends.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Creative flair with the ability to innovate and develop new recipes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including weekends and holidays.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
