The Embassy Suites La Jolla is looking to add a Human Resources and Sales Administrative Assistant to their team! 

The Embassy Suites La Jolla is across from the Westfield UTC mall and a mile from the University of California, San Diego. Beaches at La Jolla and Torrey Pines and downtown San Diego attractions like Petco Park are within 20 minutes of our hotel. 

What will I be doing?

As a Human Resource Assistant, you are responsible for managing HR administration responsibilities to deliver an excellent staff experience. A Human Resource Assistant will also be required to interface with the HR system and support employee relations. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage HR administration such as contracts, letters, and personnel files
  • Ensure accurate information is fed into the bespoke HR system
  • Assist with employee relations issues in the hotel in a confidential manner, including disciplinaries, grievances, and capability
  • Ensure the recruitment and selection process is adhered to and ensure that appropriate immigration checks are carried out
  • Help achieve departmental goals
  • Supporting the hotel with departmental training requirements including inductions, work experience, careers fairs, and training materials
  • Ensure pay reviews/absence monitoring/wage queries are managed in line with company guidelines
  • Ensure completion of training for hotel security, fire regulations, and other health and safety legislation
  • Assist and resolve team member and management queries


As a Sales Administrative Assisant, you would be responsible for providing the director and managers of sales and marketing with administrative and clerical support including word- processing, typing, e-mailing, filing, data-entry, faxing, copying, corresponding, answering telephones, processing mail, taking notes and/or dictation, making travel arrangements and performing other general office duties. Social Medea posting and Assist on special projects as needed.

Hourly Rate $18 to $20 DOE

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Knowledge of hospitality
  • Working towards or certified in Human Resources (i.e. CIPD)
