We are looking for a Sales Manager to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, set to open in Summer 2023.

This role will be based in Athens.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino is located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport. The beachfront resort will be part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It will comprise 99 guest rooms, including 48 pool villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with five restaurants and bars.

As the Sales Manager, you will take full responsibility for the Markets that will be assigned to them by the Director of Sales and Director of Commercial Strategy and ensure that performance expectations are met in line with budget. To be successful in this role, it is expected that a proactive Account management performance is showcased. The selected candidate will be assigned a set of accounts and he/she will be expected to coordinate, drive and enthusiastically implement a activities such all necessary commercial activities including, but not limited to presentations (virtual and face-to-face), office visits, international customer engagement actions, negotiations and tradeshow or roadshow attendance. Additionally, the Sales Manager will support the Director of Sales in the Sales strategy’s successful execution in other areas, as required by the business.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform with a sense of urgency in sales requests and proactively manage the accounts that fall under their area of responsibility.
  • Fully manage from a Sales point all the relationships and contracts of their assigned markets.
  • Ensure they are always informed about all rates, promotions, special agreements and corporate programs; these are communicated by the Director of Commercial Strategy in the weekly meetings.
  • Organize and attend client engagement and industry partners’ activities either at the resort or other national and international locations, when necessary, including, but not limited to Familiarization trips, Entertainment, Roadshows, Tradeshows, show rounds, face to face/virtual meetings, office visits & other.
  • Create, read, understand and analyze commercial reports and data. Then, work closely with the Director of Sales and come up with a specific action plan that will support our short-term and long-term Sales goals.
  • Showcase professionalism at all times and strive to exceed colleagues’, partners’ and guests’ expectations on a daily basis, as well as consistently offer exceptional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Sales, responsible for maximizing hotel revenue and market share through sales activities, key contracts, and partnership agreements.
  • Leverage on Global Sales Team’s managed accounts’ relationships and support centralized activities.
  • Ensure a high-end luxury performance and communication style is followed in any opportunity given and respect the brand’s guidelines across the board.
  • Proactively and strategically implement business development actions targeting new business.
  • Ensure all communication are accurately sent out within 24 hours making personal references to their choices.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of two years of experience in Sales in luxury resorts or hotels. Having worked with a wide array of international markets will be a plus, yet not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated, outgoing and driven with the ability to work both as part of a dynamic, international team and autonomously.
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills in English & Greek.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in a similar, results orientated, sales management role.
  • Confidence to lead sales performance and manage various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service, account management, communication, and organization skills including multi-tasking.
  • A positive, service-oriented, and enthusiastic attitude are required for this role.
  • Ability to work under pressure and possess high degree of stamina, agility, and flexibility.
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evening, weekends, and holidays, when required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Numerical skills.
