About the role:

You will be providing psychological treatment interventions in-person or remotely to all QR staff, conduct mental health intake assessments and risk management, assess and evaluate individual's mental and emotional conditions using clinical interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other psychometric assessment methods. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy, leasing to enhanced quality of staff wellbeing, and ability to function effectively in the workplace.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide counselling and psychotherapy in-person or remotely to all QR staff to enable employees overcome emotional difficulties, enhance decision making, and promote personal development.
  • Conduct initial mental health assessments and risk management remotely on staff or in-person with a suspected or mental health disorder, and ability to identify staff at immediate risk of harm to self, others or to business.
  • Perform detailed clinical assessment to identify underlying health issues in staff using clinical interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other standardized assessment methods.
  • Carry a caseload, mostly brief psychological therapies, leasing to enhanced quality of staff wellbeing, and ability to function effectively in the workplace.
  • Consult with various departments within the organization on cases of psychological bearing.
  • Refer staff to primary care, occupational health, or aviation medicine specialists if staff requires any medications or further investigations as needed to ensure appropriate care is provided.
  • Refer staff for psychiatric consultation or admission where medical supervision and pharmacological intervention is necessary.
  • Liaise with primary care, occupational health, or aviation medicine specialists if staff's psychological status or treatment is considered an occupational or safety risk.
  • Provide recommendations on ways to identify and manage fatigue, sleep, stress, and other lifestyle issues that could impact safety and staff well-being.
  • Provide counselling and psychotherapy in-person or remotely to immediate family members of QR staff (as required) to assist them overcome emotional difficulties and promote mental wellbeing.
  • Develop treatment plans based on patient's interests, abilities, and needs ensuring evidence based treatment protocols are followed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation and provide regular statistical reports to the Senior Psychologist - Head of Psychology Services on psychological services provided.

Qualifications
About you: 

Requirements

Valid primary license from the country of origin as a clinical psychologist

Eligible for license from licensing authority under the State of Qatar (Department of healthcare practioner - DHP) or license essential.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Clinical psychology or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
  • Experience as a Clinical Psychologist in a multicultural environment and a major industry.
  • Experience in research and psychometric analysis.
  • Experience in providing comprehensive assessments and psychological treatment interventions.
  • Certified in evidence-based psychological therapies

  • The ability to engage responsibly, respectfully, and professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and clients
  • The ability to effectively implement evidence-based interventions, evaluate treatment progress with established outcome measures, and modify treatment plans with developmentally appropriate clinical skills.
  • To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
  • Ability to administer and interpret different psychological assessment tools in a clinical setting.
  • To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the treatment plans of the clients under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both uni- and multi-disciplinary care.
  • The ability to demonstrate client autonomy and choice
  • Expertise in providing clinical therapy for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, and stressor related disorders.
  • Ability to work as a reflective practitioner.
  • To provide specialist psychological guidance to professionals contributing directly to client’s formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Ability to apply culturally-appropriate skills in clinical and other applied psychological practices.
  • To remain up to date on recent developments in the field of psychological treatment and to adapt clinical practice to reflect evidence-based client’s care.
  • Skilled in interpersonal relationships in dealing with employees and other managers using consultation and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in emergencies, as part of a team and unsupervised.
  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.


Preferred

  • Command of Arabic language is an advantage.
  • Ability to deliver psychoeducation workshop, events and mental health promotional activities.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business.
  • Additional Certifications aviation psychology background.
  • Membership in professional associations related to the field of psychology and aviation.
