The role…

At Soho House an Accounts Payable Specialist will be a supporting member of the accounting team and responsible for assisting the Accounts Payable Supervisor and the Head of Accounts Payable in completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. As a result of processing Soho House & Co. payable accounts the AP Coordinator will be contributing to the management and profitability of company resources.

A successful AP Specialist will work closely with our Purchasing Managers, Buyers, and Receivers as well as perform administrative office functions for the accounts payable department. Comfortable completing general clerical office tasks, have some accounting knowledge, have a warm and friendly personality, and of course have a knack for numbers!

Main Duties

  • Review and record credit card expenses including coding & posting journal entries, gathering appropriate support, and reviewing for compliance to Credit Card Expense Policy.
  • Review and record employee expense reimbursements through Concur including coding & posting journal entries, auditing for appropriate support, and reviewing for compliance to the Employee Expense Policy.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Concur account including employee setup, training and maintenance of Sage GL matching.
  • Work with the Head of Accounts Payable to automate the Credit Card Expense process by leveraging Concur.
  • Assist in the month-end close process and ensure reporting deadlines are adhered to.
  • Completion of various controls processes in a SOX compliant environment required as a public company.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper resolutions are communicated – This includes ensuring all intercompany postings are in balance.
  • Helping to identify and implement financial process improvements.
  • Supporting the quarterly and year-end internal and external audit process.
  • Other ad hoc roles and projects as required.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in accounts payable or managerial accounting or financial management is a hospitality or co-working business
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Concur expense management and credit card feed integration
  • Advanced Excel skills associated with large volumes of data, data management and reporting

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
