Tripadvisor is looking for a smart, enthusiastic, and motivated Senior Sales Planner to join the Tripadvisor family to manage and develop our Key Account partnerships in the Americas. The Senior Sales Planner will play an integral role developing strategic media plans based on a client’s goals and objectives while ensuring business rules and pricing are adhered to and all revenue associated with the program can be fulfilled and recognized.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Sales Planning, the Senior Sales Planner  is responsible for developing comprehensive media plans in partnership with the Account Manager across all direct and programmatic guaranteed campaigns

Maintain and ensure business rules and rates are adhered to while actively presenting solutions when client needs may conflict and require otherwise

Track delivery pacing on a weekly basis for all campaigns and implement proactive optimizations to ensure all revenue can be recognized and invoiced

Partner with Account Executive across deal support by brainstorming strategic planning solutions in response to client objectives

Instruct billing for monthly reconciliation and liaise with the finance team to request any revisions as needed

Develop best in class media plans that showcase our product suite and targeting abilities with the ability to navigate business rules to develop strategic pricing and packaging marrying Tripadvisor solutions with client objectives

Collaborate alongside Marketing Solutions counterparts to design strategic custom content media plans while maintaining profit margins

Provide solution-oriented outlook to any internal blockers that arise throughout E2E lifecycle of a program and surfaces feedback proactively

Leverage internal tools and systems effectively and efficiently

Able to navigate independently from management - ability to delegate workload for tedious or time consuming tasks to allow for additional time spent on more complex projects

Take on leadership role across the regional planning team by proactively answering questions in group communication channels, mentoring junior members of the team, and presenting regularly in team meetings

Act as a product expert & SME (subject matter expert) across 1-2  topics across the Sales Planning team (example: Custom Content, Programmatic, Media Strategy, etc.); Provides feedback on development and evolution of these topics - identifying and bubbling up any gaps in process, approach, or  strategy.


3-5+ years minimum professional experience in digital media at an agency/client/publisher prefer in an Sales Planner or Client Services role

Understands digital concepts and is up to date on emerging ad formats

Consistent and proven track record in successfully developing strategic media plans in a B2B environment

Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams across all levels including senior management

Proficient in Excel and GSuite with an analytical ability is preferred

Systems knowledge with Sales Tech and Digital Platforms (Salesforce, OMS, DFP, Moat, DoubleVerify, IAS etc.)

Strong analytical skills: understands and utilizes metrics relevant to role

Acts as an owner navigating internal materials with little to no supervision; Able to surface solutions in addition to questions

Good business judgment when making decisions and always considers the relevance/impact of each decision on the business 

A desire to perform in a fast-paced highly changing marketplace and be driven to meet and exceed the team’s expectations/demands
