We are looking for a Sales Leader who will be responsible for leading the Americas MICE sales organization, representing Shangri-La Group to Corporate, Third Party, Association and Incentive meeting customers in the Americas. This person will assist our hotels and Global Sales Teams to exceed budgeted revenue targets.  He/She will assume the role of “Champion” in the Sales function for the GSO, property and cluster sales teams. He/She will manage senior relationships within the customer base and industry.

 

Responsibilities

 

Deliver on cumulative sales revenue targets

  • Define, communicate monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets and performance to target for each team member. 
  • Drive team to effectively manage time and deployment to opportunity areas to increase current penetration, uncover new revenues.
  • Seek out new and better ways to improve our efforts to stay ahead of the competition.

 

Define key account and segment strategy

  • Utilize all tools available to identify & track revenue opportunities & production among GSO Americas managed accounts and growth accounts.
  • Define internal deployment strategy
  • Develop 12-month strategic account plan with clearly defined timelines, measurables and ownership by market
  • Create and arrange familiarization/educational trip calendar to support customer & hotel needs and maintain relationships with airlines and tourism bodies to co-host.
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.

 

Develop high performance sales structure & capabilities

  • Set and communicate specific goals revenue and other with team and constantly coach and support achievement to goals.
  • Achieve performance objectives as outlined within the department and maximize coverage and opportunities to optimize resources.
  • Participate as a team player within the greater Shangri-La organization.

 

Experience

 

  • Good knowledge of relevant geographic regions such as Asia, North America, Europe, Middle East and India.
  • Demonstrates hands-on leadership skills that exemplify a high sense of commitment, integrity, teamwork and honesty that will develop sales and support staff.
  • Excellent planning and follow-up skills.
  • Strategic thinker who is capable of interacting with all levels of management of specialty travel agencies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form with internal and external customers in a friendly and positive manner.
    Personal computer knowledge mandatory (Sales Force, Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel).
