Our  Night Manager  at  DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront  will be the warm and welcoming first point of contact for any general management related queries and overall hotel operations concerns overnight. Leading by example, our successful candidate will inspire the team to deliver heartfelt and personalised hospitality to every guest. 

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Be present in the lobby during the night shift to ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and assist in reception duties as required.
  • Proactively resolve guest issues or complaints, and encourage the team to feel empowered to do the same.
  • Brief all shift team members about incoming and outgoing guests, special requests, including early arrivals, late departures, and room changes.
  • Maintain accurate guest preferences and profiles ensuring our guests have their requests looked after, or, alternatives arranged when this is not possible.
  • Act on guest feedback given verbally or through social media channels to make recommendations and improve our guests’ experiences. 
  • Ensure delivery of benefits to our Hilton Honors guests, 
  • Oversee night audit, front desk accounting related duties and produce nightly reports, as required
  • Handle any management issues that arise, recording them and implementing the necessary actions to bring them to resolution.
  • Collaborate with other departments, particularly housekeeping, engineering, and food and beverage to deliver a seamless guest experience.
  • Responding to a variety of emergencies, including but not limited to acting as chief fire warden in the event of an alarm, handling first aid situations, responsible service of alcohol enforcement and pool incidents as required.
  • Take responsibility for hotel security, complying with fire regulations, liquor licensing and all OSH legislation.


Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and competencies:

  • Experience in an equivalent managerial or supervisory role, ideally within a hotel Front Office environment,
  • OnQ Property Management System experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a full time rotating roster that includes weekends and overnight shifts from 11.00pm to 7.00am. 
  • Holds a bachelor degree in hotel management, business, or another related field (desirable).
  • Unrestricted Australian Working Rights.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Approved Manager & Responsible Service of Alcohol certification.
  • Australian National Police Clearance.
  • A demonstrated history of working in an unsupervised.
  • Proven successful team leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, ideally within a hotel setting.
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure and time constraints. 
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situation.
