Are you a passionate food service individual? This position as a member of the Banquet team, is to provide set-up and service of guests’ functions while ensuring the highest level of service.

What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Flexible shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Follow policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
  • Ensure appropriate set-up, service, and tear-down of a variety of functions
  • Perform a variety of duties including set-ups, coffee service, bartending and white glove service
  • Read Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for all set-up and food & beverage requirements
  • Ensure all coffee breaks/meals/meeting rooms are set up for the required time and to the proper standards
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of dry goods and items held for guests’ consumption
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and housekeeping of Banquet storage rooms, back spaces and functions spaces
  • Provide guidance to Banquet Servers through on-going training and coaching
  • Assist with and provide feedback for Banquet Server performance reviews
  • Assist with ensuring staff scheduling meets business demands and budget
  • Follow all policies and procedures when completing tasks
  • Be prepared to work in other F&B outlets when required due to business needs and staffing levels
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Your experience and skills include:

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • Previous experience in food service industry and Banquets required
  • Food Handler and TABC certificates required
  • Previous supervisory experience is an asset
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of liquor and wine
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Available to work a flexible schedule and long hours based on business levels
  • Computer-literate
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Previous point of sale system experience an asset
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

 

Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
  • Remain in stationary position throughout work shift
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Exert physical effort in carrying items (up to 50 pounds)
  • Frequent lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of trays, tables, and other items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent use of hands for polishing glassware and cutlery
  • Frequent bending and reaching
  • May be required to assist with pushing carts weighing up to 400 pounds

 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents.
