Head of Sales and Business Development

Summary of the role:

Have you had success selling enterprise technology to Fortune 500 corporations?  Are you passionate about helping a challenger brand become a US business travel market leader?  Are you excited by the challenge to build and lead a direct channel commercial team to significantly accelerate technology sales growth?  Does selling innovative online booking and expense management technology to global corporations motivate you?  If so, this Amadeus Cytric Solutions commercial leadership role is for you. 

As our direct channel commercial leader, you will have the opportunity to translate our strategy into a concrete action plan for Identifying and capturing new business opportunities with large multi-national and global enterprises in North America, with primary early stage focus on US based corporations. 

In this role you’ll:

  • Build and manage a team of sales, inside sales and account management resources; have accountability for the performance and results of the direct channel commercial team.

  • Develop departmental plans, coordinate allocation of resources and control policy formation in area of responsibility. Anticipate business issues and challenges for the department to define and resolve complex problems that may impact the team and greater organization.

  • Work following the overall department strategy, with limited supervision in a complex environment

  • Participate in the preparation of the long term plan (sales forecast and solutions based on customer feedback) and definition of the sales plan.

  • Identify and qualifying business opportunities by establishing and developing relationships with top-level executives.

  • Identify customers’ specific needs and submit business proposals.

  • Coordinate and participating in RFP/RFI responses and follow-up.

  • Promote and sell products, services and solutions through direct contacts, events and road shows.

  • Deliver sales presentations to senior management and demonstrate products.

  • Manage negotiations to closure.

  • Actively participate in the overall marketing activities and programs and contributing to marketing intelligence.

  • Perform Market and competitor analysis.

About the ideal candidate:

  • Education: Bachelor/master’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant IT work experience

  • Relevant Work Experience: Minimum 15 years’ experience in a commercial roles. Solid experience in the IT/Travel industry and network in the US market.

  • Experience in selling online booking tools + TMC services to corporations preferred

  • Business Understanding: Has a deep knowledge of SaaS, understanding of Amadeus: history, business, offer, strategy, technology and organization, strong proven experience in enterprise B2B sales experience is required.

  • Skills:

    • Computing: MS Office and Salesforce experience

    • Languages: English fluent (other languages are a plus)

    • Specific Knowledge:

      • Knowledge of the US market and IT Industry.

      • Experience in selling to fortune 500 companies outside of the travel industry.

      • Strong market network.

      • 15%-25% travel required to include monthly trips

      • The person in this role will be expected to work in eastern time zone hours.
