Job Brief
A Kitchen and Laundry Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment to deliver an excellent guest experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all kitchen, laundry, LP gas and sauna systems in the resort.
- Ensure that Preventive Maintenance Service is done as per planned scheduled provided by the Preventive Maintenance Manager and that all machines and equipment are maintained in working conditions.
- Ensure that a good workmanship is followed and all the quality standards, in line with international regulations and standards are maintained during maintenance interventions on the equipment.
- Ensure that materials requested from the Maintenance stores are used correctly without wastage or excess to requirement.
- Monitor the stock level of important spares parts related to kitchen, laundry and steam sauna in the maintenance stores and advises supervisor when to re order.
- Assist in planning and undertake new installation of new equipment, systems and/or facilities.
- Advise supervisor or manager to initiate contacts by calling the external contractors/technicians for certain repairs that cannot be handled by in-house technicians.
- Helping the external technicians/contractors if the latter is called and making the follow up on the repairs
- Keeping a record of all the servicing made to the equipment (e.g. in which location, when, which spare parts were replaced, etc.)
- R epairs the machines if necessary by checking the parameter, consulting the complaints book and/or clients.
- Ensure prompt and efficient customer service at all times by adopting a proactive approach to dealing with guests complaints.
- Ensure proper implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures related to his/her sections so as to ensure consistency in the delivery of excellent service.
- Ensure that the workshop premises (plant, machinery, workshops) and surroundings are always kept in a perfect state of tidiness.
- Strictly observe all environmental statutory requirements and promote environmentally friendly policies and practices.
- Ensures Occupational Safety & Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policies are met as well as the maintenance of safe work practices and observance of safety rules and precautions.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer/Assistant Chief Engineer
- In case of fire or any other emergency, the Kitchen and Laundry technician should be present with the team to assist the Emergency Team.
Candidate Requirements :
- Diploma in electro-mechanic, electro-technic or any relevant formation in kitchen and or Laundry equipment repair is preferred.
- 2-3 years of proven work experience as a Kitchen & Laundry Technician or similar role.
- Proven experience repairing, installing and maintaining large commercial kitchen and Laundry appliances.
- Be fully conversant with all health and safety and hygiene procedures
