The Director of Rooms reports to the Hotel Manager and sits on Planning Committee which collectively makes key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel. Directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, Guest Relations (combination of Security and PBX) and Guest Services. Assures that standards are met, guests and employees are satisfied and problems are promptly resolved. Works closely with Sales and the Director of Revenue/Reservations to ensure maximum yield and a strong up-sell program. 

The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Rooms include: coordinating the organization and administrative functions in all areas of the Rooms Division; ensuring total compliance with standards of operation; ensuring that staffing is maintained at an appropriate level to match business demand; participating in all regular and ad hoc operational meetings and in the formulation of strategic business plans; establishing monthly reporting system to monitor; handling all guest complaints expeditiously to complete resolution; closely monitoring the financial performance of all departments, in particular monitoring all Rooms expenses to ensure that they are kept in line with budget; and providing solutions to improve problem areas and assisting in implementing corrective measures.  

The ideal Director of Rooms candidate will have: excellent communication skills in all aspects; professional and appropriate business appearance and presentation; 3 years experience in a comparable position in a luxury hotel operation; excellent knowledge of all aspects of Rooms Division Operations; excellent organizational and administrative skills; excellent guest service and problem resolution skills; the flexibility to meet the demands of a 24 hour operation; and the ability to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting packages.

High degree of analytical abilities 

Proven record of building strong relationships with all stake holders 

Outstanding communication and presentation skills 

Excellent English communication skills 

Existing Director of Rooms Preferred

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree 

US work authorization is required unless candidate is currently in a managerial position at a Four Seasons location. Current Four Seasons managers may qualify for L-1 visa sponsorship.
