Director of Sales

Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre is looking for individuals who are holding Saudi's nationality.

The Director of Sales oversee the overall sales/marketing/strategies for the hotel and evaluate the programs in the above specific areas are effectively managed and aligned with the hotel’s business goals and plans.

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities

Major responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement sales strategies for maximizing revenues
  • Direct Sales team and ensure they meet the targets set in the annual marketing plan
  • Attend all major local and overseas trade shows, hotel and tourist association meetings to identify market opportunities for the hotel
  • Plan and where appropriate, execute sales trips to key existing market areas and identify new potential market areas
  • Meet and entertain all influential clients and ensure there is follow-up on all discussed details
  • Organize and accompany familiarization site inspection trips of the hotel by major clients
  • Direct the Sales Management Team in identifying market opportunities for increasing the revenue produced by group meetings, functions etc.
  • Work closely with Revenue Management team in formulating and implementing intelligent room rate strategies for different market segments
  • Work closely with Reservations team in driving upselling through telephone calls and delivering high level of customer service to call-in guests
  • Work hand-in hand with Public Relations and Marketing Communications team in formulating and implementing strategies for publicizing the hotel in local and international markets through various media and through marketing partnerships
  • Establish and maintain effective colleague and working relations both within the department and with other departments
  • Provide advice and support to Food & Beverage and Spa Department in promoting the facilities in increasing revenue
  • Provide advice to the Planning Committee team and decisions and projects relating to the entire hotel
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Director of Commercial Strategy from time to time


Financial responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the budget of the Sales Division, monitor and control the expenses and ensure that there is no substantial overrun of costs
  • Work closely with Finance in reviewing financial performance regularly
  • Provide support to the People & Culture as well as the Learning & Development departments in recruiting, training and developing colleagues


Sales – Presentation and Negotiating

  • Is effective in a variety of formal presentation settings, one-on-one, small and large groups, with clients, peers, direct reports, and bosses
  • Is effective both inside and outside the organization, on both cool data and hot and controversial topics
  • Commands attention and can manage group process during the presentation
  • Can change tactics midstream when something isn't working
  • Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups
  • Can settle differences with minimum noise
  • Can win concessions without damaging relationships
  • Can be both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic
  • Gains trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations
  • Has a good sense of timing


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field; Master's Degree an asset
  • Experience in the hotel industry
  • 5+years’ experience
