Area of Training:
􏰀 $12.50 per hour stipend (Intern)
􏰀 $13.00 per hour stipend (Trainee)
􏰀 32 hours per week
Phases for the Hotel Management training program include:
1) Orientation / Introduction
2) Front Desk / Front Office
3) Guest Services / Concierge
4) Night Audit
5) Rooms Control
6) Consider It Done
7) Leadership
Exchange Visitors will be trained on the hotel􏰁s reservation system and become familiar with American quality control standards. They will experience guest complaint resolutions and guest satisfaction and will learn to work with guests to understand their needs to plan & arrange vacation itineraries. They will be trained on different computer systems utilized for reporting, ensuring an accurate closing & opening of day. They will be taught techniques on how to assign guestrooms & develop strategies to ensure maximum efficiency, while generating additional revenue. They will handle various requests (Bell Services, Engineering, Valet & Concierge) and will develop outstanding leadership skills

  • Host Organization assists with temporary housing, and it will be on-site in the Resort Hotel. 􏰎 Temporary housing is required for the job placement for the first 2 weeks of your program. 􏰎 Intern/Trainees are required to sign a housing agreement. By signing the housing agreement, students are agreeing to stay at housing that has been pre-arranged for the first 2 weeks of their program. 􏰎 Exchange Visitors will be required to pay $350 refundable security deposit prior to their arrival at time of DS2019 processing to GEC. This will all be disclosed in your Program Information Guide. 􏰎 Any damage to the property will result in students paying the cost as determined by the housing management. 􏰎 Detailed housing arrangement will be disclosed by GEC prior to arrivals. 􏰎 Housing cost is $25 per night based on 2 occupants per room (total cost of $350 for 2-week temporary stay). 􏰎 Your Host Organization will assign rooming lists based on arrival/departure dates and specific roommates may not be guaranteed. 􏰎 Long term housing leads for the placement area will be provided in your Program Information Guide in the Housing section. In addition, you are required to adhere to vetting procedures for housing in the U.S. after your temporary GEC arranged stay. You are not allowed to live in housing in the U.S. that has not been vetted and approved by GEC. 􏰎 By accepting placement and signing training plans, exchange visitors assume responsibility to read the House Rules and agree to abide by all terms and conditions of this Agreement and the House Rules. 􏰎 Various Transportation options available and might include Public Transportation, Taxi/Shuttle Service, & Ride Share (Uber/Lyft).
