The Regional Director, Sales Operations - South China (Shenzhen Based) will lead the development and implementation of strategic sales plans that maximize profitability for owned and operated hotels, with an objective to achieve hotels’ budgeted revenue, increase RevPar Index and market share targets. 

 

What will I be doing?
As the Regional Director, Sales Operations - South China, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Ensure the region’s Managed hotel Sales teams
    • Are appropriately set up, strike the right balance between proactive & reactive.
    • Have the right strategies in place to deliver their revenue targets.
    • Use Hilton systems (e.g. Delphi) and tools in accordance with our standards; to create focused opportunities for the hotels.
    • Have appropriate targets in place (SIP).
    • Evaluates and identifies business opportunities for hotels and directs accordingly.
  • Ensure the region’s Managed hotel GM&E teams are capturing maximum demand and to drive the highest level of conversion.
  • Create and maintain people plans to ensure that the region’s Managed hotel sales leaderships are protected for future growth.
  • Hold regular productivity reviews with the region’s Managed hotel Sales teams to ensure we are acquiring enough new customers as well as growing existing customers revenue and share.
  • Design and implement strategies to achieve revenue / EBITDA and to gain optimal market share.
  • Develop strategic plans and coordinate with the Regional Director of Revenue Management to maximize revenue.
  • Set long term goals for the hotels' Sales departments through review of competitive data, demand analysis and market mix to form the base for short term goals and annual operational planning.
  • Work with the area hotels and Vice Presidents of Operations to develop and assist hotels to achieve their business plan objectives.
  • Determine the appropriate objectives for the business and how those objectives are going to be accomplished.
  • Work with key stakeholders, Commercial Services team and Vice Presidents of Operations, to structure the resources and activities of the hotels' Sales teams.  
  • Streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
  • Develop key account management to increase Hilton’s market share and be the hotel of choice.
  • Repurpose teams to ensure that sales resources are optimized, to drive market share from key accounts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers and influencers within the top producing accounts.
  • Ensure that local hotel sales plans align with regional and enterprise-wide plans.
  • Drive B2B account base for all properties in the system.

 

People Management

  • Leverage the Hilton Worldwide Engine.
  • Ensure all Sales people in the region are inter-connected, trained and equipped to sell.
  • Ensure that effective processes are in place for the recruitment, induction, training and development of all customer facing sales people in the region.
  • Be an excellent coach and mentor, encourage internal movements and create succession plans, and address performance issues in a supportive, timely and decisive manner.

 

Develop Hotels’ Sales Capabilities 

  • Ensure that Hilton's sales systems are leveraged against available data to ensure effectiveness, usage and awareness to help direct sales resources.
  • Ensure top level talent is in place within the organization.  Develops current talent to achieve greater strategic goals and performance.
  • Determine staffing needs and oversee the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training and developing of key department team members.
  • Participate with forecast, budget and market plan preparation process.
  • Key responsibility for commercial focus at property level alongside commercial partners.
  • Ensure that all hotel sales leaders and team members have clear targets for revenue generation, account acquisition, retention and development.
  • Ensure that performance is reviewed on a regular basis. 
  • Enable recognition and celebrate successes and refocusing effort when team members miss targets.
  • Evaluate the sales situation of each hotel in the region, SWOT analysis, market segments and accounts, drive individual action plans for optimal performance.
  • Validate hotels’ sales revenue proposals.
  • Ensure maximized exposure and oversee overseas trade shows and missions across our portfolio.
  • Support managed hotels’ performance and new hotel openings, be involved in forecast, to create / validate / analyze rate strategy and annual revenue / hotel plans.

What are we looking for?
A Regional Director, Sales Operations - South China serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • BA / BS / Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in asimilar function.
  • Mandatory proficiency in English and Mandarin to meet business needs.
  • Experience in the hospitality, travel and leisure industries.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity awareness.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests, excellent presentation skills and in public presentation.
  • Ability to create highly motivated and performing team. 
  • Experience in consulting, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, and demonstrated ability to lead and manage others through influence, collaboration and consensus building.
  • Proficiency in Cantonese preferred.
