The main responsibility of the Payroll Clerk is to support the end-to-end payroll processing for all centrally accounted hotels and in exceptional cases other legal entities as required.
The payroll must be processed timely and accurately including all necessary filing and reporting.
Provide a consistent high standard of administration and non-administration support to the payroll involved persons on property to support achievement of the business goals and strategies and to maintain positive internal and external relationships with both associates and local authorities.

Candidate Profile


Previous experience in payroll processing or preparation in Germany preferred
Previous HR and/or Finance experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge

Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing); proficiency in both English and German
Highly organized and efficient approach required
Ability to manage varying needs and prioritizing to ensure best business results
Previous user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Accuracy of spelling and grammar, layout and content formation essential.
Expertise in payroll processes including German social insurance and income tax laws and guidelines preferred
Previous user of Payroll Processing System Paisy Advanced and/or SAP payroll preferred

Education or Certification

High School completion or equivalent required
administrative or clerical certification, preferably in Human Resources, Social Insurance, or Finance
Preferably up-to-date with current German social insurance and payroll tax guidelines

Business Results

Balanced Scorecard Results: Supports the development of strategies and executes activities to drive financial results, guest satisfaction, human capital index and market share.

Total Compensation: Administers the total compensation structure for both management and non-management associates.

Training and Development: Supports all payroll processing associates to ensure compliance and timely processing. Ensures regular self-training in regards payroll guidelines and laws.

Associate Relations: Administers policies and procedures to ensure associates are treated fairly and equitably. Supports and embeds a culture that embraces the brand service strategy and supports the present-day business environment.

Payroll Department: Create and sustain a work environment that embraces the brand’s culture and focuses on fair and equitable treatment and associate satisfaction to enable business results. Provide accurate figures for internal and external controlling including local authorities as required.
Technical Expertise (Learning and Applying Personal Expertise)

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

Total Compensation

Assist with any Compensation & Benefits data compilation
Associate Relations

To provide a sounding board for associates who may need to discuss personal issues in regard to payroll checks, social insurance or payroll tax, and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Maintain a confidential surrounding at all times by exercising high data protection standards.
Document processes and assist with user specific training
Payroll – department focus

Assist with any process administration and the collation of data for relevant reports.
Support HR departments with the administration of any payroll information
Ensure all associates receive their paycheck on time
Ensure any taxes and payroll related information is captured on time
Assist with monthly reconciliation of payroll related balance sheet accounts
Prepare payroll related information to outside auditors and consultants
Responsible for the archiving of payroll related documentation as required
Participate in any required meetings
Needs to be very efficient and professionally skilled in:

Preparing documents using Word and Excel applications.
Files and forward traces a variety of documents, appointments etc.
Updates and distributes relevant information databases as required
Processes incoming mail.
Responds to various internal and external requests for help and information.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by management.
Complies with Marriott International policies and procedures
