The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. JOB SUMMARY

Scope of Position

The Senior Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the oversight of recruitment and training and development. The principal outcomes of this role are to grow the organization by identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining talent. The role works collaboratively with HR and business colleagues to enable business success and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and JW Marriott Turnberry Miami Resort & Spa operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive working relationships with all staff members and any external customer.

• Assist with development and review of jobs descriptions and career advertisements (print, internet, etc.).

• Facilitate JW Marriott Turnberry structured interviews as appropriate for all hourly and salary candidates.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate new recruitment initiatives.

• Ensure all pre-employment paperwork is completed and maintain accurate records relating to pre- and post-employment for legal and company purposes.

• Produce offer letters as directed.

• Coordinate drug testing and background checks for all successful candidates.

• Maintain a weekly open positions list and distributes to local organizations and schools.

• On-going coaching, support and follow-up with department heads and hiring managers on recruitment methods and effective interviewing techniques.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws concerning recruitment and hiring.

• Networks and maintains contact with external organizations (e.g., Hotel Association and peers) to source candidates for current or future job openings.

• Work with Executive Committee Members, Department Heads, Leaders, and departmental trainers to ensure On the Job Training, and New Hire training programs are successful.

• Monitor and track all property training. Be the gate keeper for training attendance ensuring all departments follow required training.

• Ensures coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation.

• Create materials for training as needed.

• Assists in maintaining effective Associate communication channels on the property (e.g., develops daily communications and assists with regularly scheduled property-wide meetings).

• Ensures Associate files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation, are properly maintained and secured for the required length of time.

• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Position Requirements

• A minimum of 3+ years related experience in a hotel environment and

• Human resources management required.

• Recruitment experience required.

• Passion for sourcing, recruiting, and selecting the best talent.

• Outstanding written, verbal, and public presentation skills.

• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education

• 2-year degree from an accredited university; 2 years’ experience in the human resources or related professional area; certified trainer, 

or

• 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus. 

• Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends, if needed, and able to perform multiple tasks. 

• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently.

• Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

• Outstanding writing, verbal, and public presentation skills.
