The Role

The position is responsible for developing and directing global sales systems strategy, sales tools, and integrated systems interfaces. This person will link business needs with all other impacted departments.  This position will also oversee the business side of development of requirements and deployment of global sales systems which will support the Global Sales team with increasing contribution and driving revenue to all brands.  The position will partner directly with other stakeholders including Global Sales Leaders, Sales Technology Solutions, hotel user groups, IT business consultants, and project management to ensure integration of business requirements and implementation of any systems or solutions with minimal business disruption.   

This position will lead and support the business with function specifications and business requirements for new system acquisitions or enhancements to existing sales systems.  Responsibilities will include the developing and executing the sales strategy and deployment for sales programs and tools to include but not limited to:  Wyndham Direct, Everyone Sells Group Referrals, Meetings Collection, Groups360, Salesforce, Cvent Group & Transient and 3rd Party integrations.  Position will also lead the annual RFP business case and RFP process for the Global Sales Team and our hotel partners.

This position would also escalate any enhancement needs or defects to Sales Technology for resolution.  In addition, this position will work closely with Global Sales Training support to ensure that all program and technology updates are documented in Job Aids, SOPs and training tools.
 

What you'll do

Sales Products
Responsibilities include the business side of development of key requirements and enhancements within global sales products which will support GSO to increase contribution and drive revenue to all brands.  Primary products to include but not limited to Salesforce, GSO Sales Leads, Cvent Group, Cvent Transient and 3rd Party Integrations (ARN, Event Connect etc.) Role will be responsible for data governance between systems.  Role will also be responsible to sharing success metrics and areas of improvement with sales leadership on a determined cadence.

Sales Programs
Develop, create, and execute the strategy for sales programs to further increase global sales revenue contribution. Primary Programs to include but are not limited to Everyone Sells Group Referrals and the Meetings Collection.  Role will also be responsible for sharing success metrics and areas of improvement with sales leadership on a determined cadence.

Annual RFP Business Case & RFP Process via Cvent Lanyon
Partner with GSO Leadership to develop and execute the annual Business Case (May) and RFP Process (August) through Cvent Transient with key stakeholders including GSO Leaders, Sellers, Remote Sales Services, Operations Partners, and Hotels. Ensuring that the loop is closed on the outcome of business cases and RFPS with our hotels and owners that leads to increased Hotel engagement and satisfaction.

Communication & Training Updates
Role will partner with the Global Sales Training & Communications team to ensure all program and product updates are shared by the Global Sales Training & Communications team.  This team will then ensure all Wyndham channels including Wyndham Community, Seller and Hotel Job Aids and communicated effectively across the organization.  

Project Management
Partner with leadership to plan, organize, control, and lead projects within established budget and timelines.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Finance, or a relevant subject is a plus.
  • Seven (7) plus years of progressive work-related experience in travel industry with focus on sales systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales systems, property management systems, and central reservation systems.   
  • Successful leadership or team management experience is required. 
  • Analytical - ability to review numbers and draw quick conclusion about past and future trends from data. Ability to communicate business needs to other departments. 
  • Hotel Sales - exceptional understanding of sales concepts, processes, and systems. 
  • Ownership - ability to navigate around organizational and cultural hurdles to achieve goals and resolve issues.  Understanding of when to escalate items outside their control.
